Ron Paul, 2008 Presidential candidate has voiced his for Barney Frank’s Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act (IGREA) stating the internet should not be regulated.
The Republican candidate Paul is no stranger to the spot light. He has also called for the abolishment of the IRS and Federal Income Tax, immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq and voted against the USA Patriot Act.
Because he does not agree in regulating the internet he agreed to co-sponsor the bill with Democratic Congressman Frank. UIGEA) and allow for licensing of internet gaming facilities.
Presidential hopeful Ron Paul said, “I believe strongly that the Internet should not be regulated by the Federal Government and believe even more strongly that people should be free to engage in the activities they wish as long as they are willing to take responsibility for their actions.â€Â
Speaking in Pennsylvania Paul added, “The majority of people in Washington were afraid to the Internet for fear it would label them ‘pro-porn’ or ‘pro-gambling’.â€Â
Californian Congressman Adam Schiff had just announced his to IGREA which now brings the total to 35 who have publically ed the measure.
